We’re meeting with our financial planner this afternoon, and I’ve been putting off completing the worksheet and making copies of documents. I just told myself if I get all my “work” done, I will let myself go out for a photowalk this afternoon.

I like how shooting film seems to help stop time. The garden changes so quickly in the spring as leaves are emerging and plants are bursting with growth. I always take a bunch of pictures, and when I get photos developed a few weeks later, I can relive the golden light in the evenings. Before the mosquitoes started biting, before the heat and humidity forced us to turn on the air conditioning, before the leaves lost their translucent tenderness …
