When film works, it is grand. There's nothing more beautiful than analog photography.
But when film doesn't work, it can be heartbreaking. I'm 99.9% sure that this particular mishap was entirely my fault, but I'm still not quite sure what happened.
Suffice it to say, due to some sort of film rewinding issue, I lost all of my photos from Friday, July 24th. Photos of Bartram's Garden, Center City Philadelphia, Capogiro Gelato, Reading Terminal Market ... It makes me sad to think of the 36+ photos that will never be.
I know what you'll ask me. "Why don't you just stop this film nonsense and take digital photos?" And I will laugh and politely refuse to give up on analog. Film mishaps aren't the end of the world, and I'm always willing to gamble for a great shot.
Other than this minor setback, I've been enjoying the heck out of my "new" Olympus OM-1n. I'm back from Philadelphia, and have posted all of
my (film) photos on Flickr, so you can see some polaroids and 35mm images from my trip. (I did take some digital snapshots, but nothing spectacular enough to upload.)
